Your wedding is definitely one of the most important and impactful moments in all of your life. After getting married, your life will be forever changed, hopefully for the better. Unfortunately, some people simply do not take the time to ensure that their wedding is memorable. An illustrious ceremony is great and photographers are a must, but one thing which many people forget is music to lighten the mood and enhance the festivities. Masters of Ceremonies, or as they’re called when it comes to weddings, emcees are an excellent tool to achieve just that. It can, however, be difficult to find a good wedding emcee for a good price. Today, we’ll take a closer look at how to find the best wedding emcee.
Finding the best wedding emcee
Wedding emcees come in all shapes and sizes and, with that, comes the eminent possibility of choosing an emcee who is sub-standard. One of the best ways to ensure that you don’t get a poor quality emcee is to look at their past experience managing weddings and getting quality DJs. Experience is key because emcees will, no doubt, be managing massive parts of your wedding that you do not want to go wrong. A good place to start is to see how many times they have been an emcee. If their experience is extensive then that shows you two things. First, that he/she has the experience, obviously. Second, that people are satisfied with his/her work and that they offer a good price.
Before you set out on your quest for an emcee, make sure you have some basic ground rules for the emcee. You probably don’t want someone who is derogatory, rude, awkward, or embarrassing. Ground rules can be so broad such as, “don’t swear,” to so specific as, “play the second track promptly after the kiss.” It is incumbent upon you to know the way you want the emcee to take the wedding so they can do a good and satisfactory job. Be sure and have these rules on hand, show them to your potential emcee, and check their willingness and/or ability to fulfill them.
Choose Friends Who Know You Both
It is an excellent idea to choose an emcee who knows you well. Friends and family make excellent emcees because they can tell personal stories that are entertaining to listen to. However, it is also important that you choose a friends who knows you well as a couple. You don’t want an emcee who will tell stories only of the bride or the groom. It is important to have a good and proper balance of stories between the two.
